Imagine a Whole Weekend of Crafty Goodness!

I have now planned my creative retreats for 2022. There are 6 retreats, and three different types of craftiness. I can't wait! I'm so excited about these, and so proud of them.

I had such fun planning and creating the lineups for these retreats. I just know all the attendees will have a fabulous time.

All the retreats have a nature theme, and include a walk in the local woods for inspiration - either at Hamsterley Forest or High Force.

The retreats are held at our Retreat/B&B Hill Top Haven www.hilltophaven.co.uk

This is the reason that we made the big life move from Cambridgeshire to the rugged North Pennines over a year ago.

We are a friendly, approachable and 'normal' retreat. We aim to provide an authentic experience of what it's like to live in this wonderful part of the world.

I brainstormed all sorts of crafts to include on the retreats, and came up with three programmes. The idea is that we have one bigger project, and then a few smaller projects.

I've planned them so that, even if you're familiar with the crafts, you can still have fun - and perhaps learn something from one of the other offerings.

I've also planned the retreats so that there is a mixture of weekends (Friday lunchtime to Monday lunchtime) and weekdays (Tuesday lunchtime to Friday lunchtime) - to try and offer as much flexibility as possible.

The programmes are:

Retreat 1: creating an applique flower scene with fabric flowers, weaving with silk on a home made loom, eco dyeing from flower pounding (such fun!!) and making felt leaf coasters

Retreat 2: Eco dyeing yarn and creating a crochet picture of flowers, making macrame feathers and daisies and using craft wire to fashion a dog or cat (other animals are available!)

Retreat 3: Making a leaf pendant with silver clay, learning to make dorset buttons and a coaster of air dry clay. We create a mosaic nature scene from magazines and a hedgehog from an old book!

The retreats are priced to include all materials, and all meals except one night - where I'd encourage you to go and explore the local eateries.

There are a maximum of 6 places for each retreat. If you'd like to stay with us at Hill Top Haven, we have a single and double room in the Annex and a double/twin room in the main house. If you stay with us, breakfast is included. These have been blocked out for retreat guests and are available on a first come first served basis. Alternatively, you can find accommodation elsewhere in the area. There are a number of B&Bs and self catering options.

Have I said how excited I am about these retreats?!?

I hope you will come and join me on one of these retreats this year, so that I can meet you in person (gasp!)

Have a look at the Events page for dates.

I have also planned a number of wellbeing retreats this year on three themes: the Menopause, Stress and Grief. These will include creating your own journal, and journalling, as well as discussion, learning about the topic, and ways of managing such as with mindfulness. If you're interested, take a look at the 'Retreat and B&B' tab on the website.

If you have any questions on any of these, please just give me a shout at admin@beingewe.co.uk

Did I say I was excited?!? :-)

Bev.
